Stock crack was very nasty, crack all through stock from both sides of trigger inlet up at 40 degrees through wrist and just short of going through top of stock. All numbers match except trigger group, which were all modified for the removable mag, so none may really match. Put about $125 into parts, some unissued like hand guards, and it actually restored very nicely, even given my awful woodworking skills. The one I received was actually only missing hand guards, end cap and of course mags. When I called, sales person checked and said both had cracked stocks that would be hard to repair plus was missing rear sight parts. Supposed to be missing stock butt plate, front end cap, mag, sling attach, hand guards. Got one of two remaining (or so they said) three weeks ago. An unknown number of FN-49's were produced as, but the small 10 round limited the usefulness of the fully automatic feature. The FN-49 found itself in direct competition with a number of more modern rifles such as the and 's own, resulting in limited sales.Wonder if anyone else took a chance on the SOG 308 FN-49s when they dropped the price. The version with produced for Belgium was known as the AFN.While well regarded for its high build quality and reliability in comparison to the rifles of the time, its marketability was limited, as it was not developed in time for use in but later, as many militaries had already begun the switch to. It was used by the militaries of Argentina, Belgium, the, Brazil, Egypt.
